PDF to Word
Serves to quickly convert PDF files (*.pdf) into MWord documents (*.doc). Though some losses are inevitable, it maintains position of text, pictures and simple vector graphics. At the same time PDF 2 WORD 2.3 offers useful tools for editing PDF text, pictures and graphics. The changes can't be saved, but will be reflected while converting files into the Word format. To convert a PDF file into a Word document, you have to make two clicks: to choose a file and to press Save Word file button. The rest of options serve to edit and view, and make the processes convenient to the maximum.
PDF is a versatile format and can appear as "pure text", "image plus text" and "image only". Image itself can be presented as a picture or graphics. One of the ways to differentiate them here is ‘if it can't be edited as a picture, it must be graphics'
It's a typical PDF page. With a picture at the top, graphics to the left and, of course, some text. The changes we can apply to the picture are:
Actually, it's much more convenient to complete the work while in PDF then to deal with pictures in Word. But it's not only the matter of pictures shuffling; the built-in ImageArtist helps to edit a picture itself: colors, brightness, sharpness, and saturation, i.e. more or less standard set of options.
As for the graphics, we can add new objects, move and delete them and parts of them, as well as move and change area. Keep in mind that PDF-Word conversion is not lossless by nature. But pictures are doubtlessly doing much better than graphics. Try the options, you might appreciate it. Now several words about the text. It can be edited in blocks, or some text may be added into some blocks, or some blocks of text may be added. Text Block button . Working with blocks of text (here, for example, a line is represented as a block), we can change their size and position on the page, move, delete, rotate (the change was lost while converting), apply mirror and flip effects. Having edited the text of the block, I got "Pistol Rules to Learn by Heart" instead of "Pistol rules". Text Button . The options allow to work with texts areas, add some new text, highlight, strikeout, underline (the change were lost while converting) and so on. "Shooting is Rulez!!" is what the International Federation slurred over, but I couldn't help adding. The options, of course, aren't restricted to the mentioned above. There are quite many of them, but, strangely enough developers don't provide any explanations for them in the Help section. So, the program's interface is intuitive indeed: you can relay on you intuition only. All in all, this is a pop-illustration of how to enhance your PDF file before converting it into a Word one.
And now it's high time to show a result, the page in *.doc. It's right here. The smart program abolished most of my mediocre editing attempts, didn't' pay attention to graphics, but preserved the original text alright.
In general, I should say, PDF 2 WORD did well enough. As for the absence of the option to save changes in PDF files, to meet the demand Cad-Kas team developed a detached program. Quite predictable, isn't it? But for Help section, that is the necessity to comprehend everything without any help, I would estimate PDF 2 WORD as a very good one.
