NotesPad is an excellent replacement for the Windows Notepad application.
NotesPad improves upon Notepad in a number of ways. The interface uses a toolbar resembles Internet Explorer's toolbar, providing access to favorites, font sizes, printing, word wrapping, spell checking, and more. A 'Text clips' button gives you access to handy text strings that you create that can be easily pasted into any document. For switching between open documents, NotesPad uses a handy tabbed toolbar.
NotesPad also has handy functions for sorting, inserting Hard Returns automatically between all the paragraphs in a document, joining documents, converting DOS to Unix, viewing a file in a Web browser, and much more. Also available from the Notespad Web site are free spell-checking dictionaries for legal and medical professions, as well as Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish dictionaries.

The 16-tabs Notespad32 v8.0 is the very best text editor in my book!
100% pleased with it. Use it almost daily.
Installed it so it replaces the very deficient Windows "original" when a program calls for notepad.
A fantastic free tool.
