Professional Screen Saver Made Easy. Being a person without great talents, I pay respect to the programs helping to easily create something professional.

Having read the advertisementlike description of GraFX Saver Pro on the site, I expected to face a complicated process of creating some exquisite, state-of-the-art product and doubted it to be easy.

It took me 2 minutes to download and install the program, 2 minutes to understand how it works and 5 minutes to find all the files I wanted to use. 5 steps and I am observing a succession of my favorite pictures with some music in the background.

The obvious advantage of the program is its linear algorithm of proceeding. Absence of challenging subtasks and so the necessity to master Help make it attractive for regular users and somewhat compensate for quite poor design. What is more pleasant, GraFX Saver Pro does support over 20 image, video, and audio file formats and a GraFX screen saver’s installation and setup are easy for end users.

Along with a GraFX Saver Pro self-extractor module (choose it to install or uninstall a screen saver), the program offers to save a document containing a project proceeding. Here you can make changes: add/deletå photos/video, apply new affects, etc.

But this is the end of this program’s strong points.

The claimed 100 effects are, in fact, variations of the simplest 21 ones. 21 is not bad, but the problem is you can apply only one of them. For example, all of your 70 images will “appear and contract to middle”. A bit boring, isn’t it? Pictures themselves are situated in the center of the screen, producing the impression of static motion.

The program might have a wider range of more advanced effects which, besides, could be combined, as well as the possibility of organizing images into particular groups and applying to them different effects. Otherwise, the valuable simplicity turns into disappointing primitiveness.

Personally I would appreciate the option of turning off the musical background to avoid probable wars of musical formats.

And the last but not the least question: "Who might want GraFX Saver Pro …at $75?"

For example, my 12-year-old son. He created his GraFX screen saver in 1 minute. Pictures of 20 processed in Photoshop funny cats + 'Who let the dogs out' in the background made him excited. A screen sàver functioning as a slide show is an excellent entertainment for children (though, ACDSee + Winamp would work too) and a good way to teach them earn their initial cents selling the most attractive works. With so many parental attempts to introduce children to business, why not pay $75.

Another practical use is to buy it especially for creating a unique corporate screen saver. Installed by default it is like a corporate dress-code: it highlights status and backs up discipline. This obviously costs $75.

As for presentations and tutorials, GraFX Saver Pro will do it, but so will Power Point, etc.
