The TIzlenimHyphenator is a non-visual VCL component for text hyphenation, of US-English. The algorithm used to achieve this is called TeX. It uses patterns created from a hyphenation dictionary, and searches for these sub strings in a given word.

It's quick, and small.
Instead of using a Large dictionary of over 200000 words the TeX algorithm that is used in TIzlenimHyphenator you get around 93% accurate hyphenation with a speed of 14000 words per minute.
The algorithm can be used with any language by using the TeX pattern list for that language. Most languages TeX patterns are available on the net for free.
