The Videodensitometer evaluates spot areas in tracks on a TLC plate image with construction of a chromatogram (analog curve) on the deviation of track Intensivity from background Intensivity and the subsequent quantitative evaluation of the chromatogram.

The evaluation proceeds on the assumption that the size and the Intensivity of a spot (in relation to the plate background Intensivity) depend on the quantity of a substance in the spot.
