Disasteroids 3D is a terrific freeware version of the classic arcade game, Asteroids.

Disasteroids 3D is an OpenGL accelerated version of Asteroids unlike any other. The game features wicked 3D meteors, cool lighting effects, deep asteroid sounds, particle effects, explosions, and force feedback support. There is a Copernicus Mode toggle, which allows you to play the game with the game world fixed, or centered on your spaceship. The speed of the rocks and your spaceship has been tweaked to make the game a bit more playable and action-paced. The source code is even available for download.
