The classical age-old game Backgammon greets you. If you like this game in real life, it's quite possible that you‘ll appreciate a computer variant of Backgammon, which, in addition, includes many useful features, the original game doesn't have.

As for amateurs of Backgammon, there is no need to go into details of this game. But if you deal with it for the first time in your life, let's get to know the objectives and rules of this popular game.

First of all, it's worth mentioning that the interface of Pro Backgammon is unsophisticated and designed in bright colors. The familiarization with all options and the tool bar of the program won't take you much time, everything is simple and comprehensible.

Let's move on to the objectives of Backgammon. To become a winner you must be the first player who will remove all own pieces from the board by moving them to the home board and then bearing them off.

To achieve this goal you should be familiar with the rules of Backgammon. In order to start moving your pieces you throw the dice, indicating how many points you may move your pieces. You can put your piece only at the vacant point, but if your opponent has only one piece on this point, you may move onto the point and send the opponents piece to the center bar. A piece on the center bar must reenter the board on an open point in the opponent's home, corresponding to one of the numbers rolled on the dice. If you rolled doubles, you may move double the combination of the numbers shown on the dice.

The last step is bearing off all the pieces from the board, but you are able to do it only when all your pieces are in your home board. At any rate if you did it the first, lucky you are, you become a winner.

Pro Backgammon introduces some innovations in this ancient and popular game. In this way you can chose what type of match you'd like to play. There are five different kinds of matches. Each one is different and presents a different challenge. You may select your opponent, it can be whether the computer or another person.

Also, you have possibilities to save the game at any point you want, make forward or backward move.

So, it seems to be that Pro Backgammon has everything to become a popular program among the amateurs of Backgammon. But along with its merits, there are some drawbacks. Thus, the offered colour spectrum is a little bit aggressive and what is worse, there is not an option to change it, you chose just among two colours.

Besides, I think that it would be more desirable if there were classical and habitual cells for pieces, not these strange pyramids.

On the whole, I could sum up that this program may give a pleasure both amateurs and novices at Backgammon.
