From time to time, after the favorite team's loss, its lovers start to criticize the soccer's authorities and players, beginning with words: "If I were Uventus (Chelsi, Valencia, Manchester United... and so on, depending an amateur's preference) manager, I would..." and then a list of recommended actions, which undoubtedly will bring to the club's glorious victory, goes.

Not being a soccer's amateur, I decided to come to this game from a financial point of view. So, I was appointed as a manager of a team in the tough Italian leagues and my duties were to take control of a soccer team and control everything about the club and team. Also, I had to decide playing tactics, team selection, transfers, financial issues and many more. In any case, from the very beginning I had a big advantage over other football managers, because I started with one of the top clubs and already had a great team to manage. Alternatively, you can start with a team in the lower leagues and build your way up to the top.

The success or failure of your undertaking will depend on your decisions concerning tactical options, such as playing style, formation, team selections, etc, which will reflect your influence on the playing pitch. So, you should think of and realize step by step your strategy.

The game begins in the following way: your sponsors are pledging their full support for the upcoming season. As token of their support an amount of 500.000 will be made available to get your campaign under way.

As a manager you can decide on the playing formation and tactics of your team. For example, you'll see the playing field with the 11 players in the middle top of the screen. Here, you should represent your team's playing formation. The 11 players on the left hand screen will play as shown by the corresponding numbers of the field diagram. The numbers below the diagrams refer to the different playing styles. It's up to you to decide an appropriate style.

Then, you'll search players to buy. In this case such option as transfers will help you. There are 4 types of transfer lists according which you can adjust players. Any player can only be on one transfer list at a time. If a player is not on a list, he is not for sale. All lists are sorted from the highest rated players to the lowest rated players. Data is displayed as: rating, name, age, status, current club, division, value.

The finance screen allows you to track your team's financial situation and make stadium upgrades. While your finances are in the black (positive balance), you will be able to make transfers and stadiums upgrades. The board will refuse any transfers or upgrades if your finances are negative. The financial summary is self-explanatory. Sponsors will pay much attention to these data in order to decide whether they will continue making contribution in you as a manager or not. In the worst case you risk to be fired.

Selecting the 'Stadium' option will show your stadium's current status (name, capacity and status) and give you the option to increase the seating capacity, if you have money of course.

The option "History" displays records and statistics about your progress and achievements. It lets you view your overall record year by year for up to the last 25 seasons. Here, you can see which team you managed, how you did in the league and all the various cup competitions. The 'Fixtures' option will display details of all games to be played domestically and in Europe, as well as result of games already played.

I wouldn't like to give a detailed description of all possibilities of Allenatore - Italian Football Manager II in order not to prevent you from the opportunity to discover this game's variety. I'll just say that this is a really very realistic simulation program, which (who knows) may possibly help you to make your small town heroes become the Champions of Italy and ultimately Europe and the World!
