Wall Street… How suggestive and impressive this name sounds for many of us, isn't it? What do you imagine when you hear these words? The name, as everyone who has seen or heard it knows, is generally associated with numbers—figures printed in newspapers and spoken over the air.

The famous NY Stock Exchange is situated on the Wall Street. In general, the name American Stock Exchange identifies with something that is of vast and immediate significance not only in the United States but also in much of the world.

Of the estimate 26-million Americans who own stocks and bonds, relatively few have actually seen the American Stock Exchange. And of those who know in general what it is—a place where stocks and bonds are sold, at the latest prices shown by the numbers that constantly flow from the Exchange—relatively few could answer. What does the Exchange look like? What goes within its walls?

The answers to these questions you may receive mastering and playing the game Wall Street Raider. It is an enough sophisticated game, which allows us to know the inside of Wall Street.

As for my personal impressions, I came across with some difficulties from the very beginning, because I had never dealt with stock exchange affaires. So, in order to clear up my mind, I opened the option "Help", but to my great disappointment it was not any necessary for me information, only some general description of the main functions of the game and the glossary with banking and stock exchange terms.

In this way, I had to resort to efficient people's help, because the program didn't give me any sufficient information. Only after these consultations I could start the game.

First of all, I selected an "active entity" (player), named John Q. Public. Afterwards, I chose one of 1000 suggested corporations to control and operate it. Also, I looked at the financial news report of this company, its income, net operating profit, year-to-date yearning and so on.

Having evaluated the condition of this and some other companies I decided to buy some stocks of several undertakings, and in spite of my lack of experience, I managed to earn some amount of money.

There are other possible transactions, which can be chosen while playing this game, in such a way, you will be able to sell stock short, buy corporate bonds, trade government bonds and so forth. But you shouldn't forget that your competitors won't be left behind by you. At the same time, you have to be very attentive and always pay your attention to financial news headlines presented in the middle of the interface of Wall Street Raider's main window, because all up-to-date information connected with the current situation is highlighted here.

To sum everything up, I should say that Wall Street Raider is a very adductive game, which may give you some right ideas about stock exchange business, and in this way, this game can be considered as an educative one. I would recommend it everyone who is interested in these affaires or would like to try his/her strength in this sophisticated area of our life.

This game is fun, if you are interested in understanding the stock market! I have played this game for hours and hours. Very informative and simplified. To the guy who wants a cheat: There is a cheat mode in this game already. This game does not need a cheat code. It's not meant to have one. This game is meant to be played exactly as it was intended for, for those who want to learn the REAL STOCK MARKET, not some boys shoot'em up game.

This game is so addictive! It lets you do all the mean and rotten things you read about in the business section without the guilt of putting people in the poor house. I have played other stock market games but they don't have nearly the adaptability and options of this game. And for those of you who don't like DOS games if you go to the companies website you can find the new Windows version there for download.
