Newsletters mailing is a traditionally demanded task. Whether you plan to send company news to subscribers, to inform clients about a special offer or invite friends to a stuff party, sending emails is a simple and effective way to fulfill the tasks.

To manage email sending there exist special programs - mass-mailers. Today we introduce you a one of the type - SendBlaster - a good instrument to organize and manage your newsletters sending.

Organizing mailing of newsletters with SendBlaster is rather easy and typical for this class of programs. First, you have to create a list of subscribers, second – a template and then you can send this message to your subscribers on the specified emails. Messages can be personalized with available data from your subscribers list, like phone numbers, addresses, etc. For example a message can start with a heartily "Dear Mr. Smith" instead of faceless "Hello".

Interface of SendBlaster is simple and intuitive. It presents the main window and a convenient menu to the left. All functions are grouped into three: the first group is for message sending, the second is for subscriber's data management and the third contains program options.

Let's have a closer look at the process of creating and administrating the list of subscribers. Every list offers a set of email addresses and extra fields for such information as name, company name, job, phone number of your subscriber, etc.

You can change the content of the fields in the corresponding option of the program's menu.

Every recording in the list has two parameters: subscription state and activation state. Messages are only sent to those addresses where both parameters are set. It lets to make mailing finely controlled. For example, you can deactivate an address excluding it from the mailing process independent of its subscription state.

Moreover, SendBlaster allows to form a blacklist which lets to block sending mails to the added addresses and whole domains.

There is an excellent feature to group subscribers according to various fields in random order. What is more, and amount of these fields is not limited.

Unfortunately, there are no options to control the subscription state for the members of the group. For example, you cannot enable/disable emailing to all members from London (if subscribers were grouped geographically). Of course the task could be solved by selecting necessary entries, but the option is not presented. You can only select such members manually which is very inconvenient even when you use SHIFT key. I believe this makes that great feature quite unpractical.

SendBlaster allows importing data from different sources, and, what is the most interesting, make primitive manipulations with the list and imported data. For example, enable/disable or delete subscribers from the list. It gives a range of opportunities for composing lists by manipulating with data from different sources.

SendBlaster has a splendid feature: it can automatically manage the subscription state of subscribers. Every subscriber can send an e-mail to managing email and write "Subscribe" in the subject field to subscribe to your newsletters or "Unsubscribe" if they don't want to receive your emails anymore. SendBlaster handles message from that address and processes requests. It is highly effective and convenient.

Handling of bounce emails is realized in the same way. For example, if an email has been sent to an invalid address, the server returns that message, SandBlaster analyzes it, and then that address will be deactivated or deleted (depending on the chosen options).

In spite of wide range of options to manage the lists of subscribers, SendBlaster doesn't have such a necessary option as deleting duplicated entries, but duplicating is, unfortunately, inescapable when you work with big volumes of data.

SendBlaster grants a handy HTML-editor for creating email templetes.

And a number of ready-made templates.

The From (title) and Subject fields of your message can contain tags which will be replaced with appropriate data of a corresponding subscriber. For example the tag #name# will be changed to the name of that subscriber, and tag #company# will be changed to the company name etc. Tags can be defined not only by the field name, but also by the field number. Also there are special tags to manage subscription, such as managing e-mail, system time etc.

In my opinion, absence of conditional operators in the message templates is a serious drawback. It makes impossible creating a template which contains data, specific for a subscriber: for example, when you'd like to inform your subscribers living in a concrete city about special offers adding the information to the main message; or when you want to send different messages to subscribers working in different companies. Of course you can solve that problem by creating different lists of subscribers but it isn't always convenient.

Sending off messages can be realized by means of an SMTP-server or using direct send. And you can use both of those methods simultaneously. This means SendBlaster will send a message directly if sending over SMTP-server failed, or vice versa: SendBlaster will send message over SMTP-server if subscriber's server has rejected delivery.

In additive to all options, SendBlaster has a number of options for tuning sending speed, such as the time period between email sending, the number of simultaneous connections etc.

Summing up, SendBlaster is a fair solution for organizing newsletters mailing, although it's a bit expensive. The product has also a free version which has limits on the number of messages and members on the list, and lacks some essential options.
