HTML Calendar Maker Pro awarded Softpile Most Popular

HTML Calendar Maker Pro allows to create web page calendars without any knowledge of HTML. It is easier-than-the-easiest-to-use. Let us see if the latter compensates for the lack of some useful features.

HTML Calendar Maker Pro's developers recommend the program for school and personal websites to keep public informed about what is going on and what is going to happen.

On the program start, we get a traditional monthly calendar window with the spaces for upcoming events.

Users' tasks are to:

  1. Type in events.
  2. Insert codes for images, links, or pop up links (if needed).
  3. Set some options for calendar color schemes, fonts, etc.
  4. Save calendars as .CAL and .HTML files (the former is recommended, the latter is a must).
  5. Address their service providers or network administrators for the explanations how to place the files on their web sites.

The program's interface is simple and unambiguous. A clear and nice looking tutorial panel on the left will dismiss last doubts about what to do next. Though, it's not essential for work and you can hide it any moment.

The result on your web page will be more or less as follows.

What is convenient: not only can we announce an event, but also give links for pages and images covering it. For example, January, 11 "My StAr album" is released and starting January,12, everybody can order it at www.amazon.com clicking the link on my web calendar page.

What is frustrating: the program doesn't support other languages except English. Though it offers full and abbreviated names of months and days of week in English, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian, HTML Calendar Maker Pro doesn't have an option to set a code for the final html document. It makes impossible to create calendars with an un-English content.

Now some words about options available to adjust a calendar to your website's style, or just make it livelier.

You can experiment with colors, fonts, and heading, date and event alignments. No unusual forms and miscellaneous shapes. Purchasing new color schemes seems to be the only way to improve calendars looks.

Though, users familiar with basics of HTML have an opportunity to create Headers and Footers on their likes.

As you have noticed, the program automatically allows to create one-month calendar. Supposing, you'd like to have a 2/3-month calendar. Well, HTML Calendar Maker Pro doesn't do it itself, but the program's User's Guide shares information how to do it. It says the following:

To show three or more calendars on a page:

  • Type in events for the first month
  • Generate the first calendar as a web page
  • Select and copy the code between the tags and
  • Close the code window without saving
  • Move to the second month and type in its events
  • Generate the second calendar as a web page
  • Paste the copied code above
  • Select and copy the code for both the first and second calendars
  • Close the code window without saving
  • Move to the third month and type in its events
  • Generate the third calendar as a web page
  • Paste the copied code above
  • To add more calendars to the page, repeat steps 9 through 12
  • Save the web page code by clicking "Save As..."

Not that one has to be an HTML expert to do that, but when we pay for a program $26.99, we expect it to do what we want, not vice versa.

To resume, HTML Calendar Maker Pro is very easy to use, and it'll take you just some minutes to create quite good looking one-month calendar with English-speaking contents. The trial version allows to create 10 calendars. Try it to check if it's what perfectly suites your purposes and demands.
