HostScan1.2 includes two aspects(functions):
IP scan, which may be used to search the IP address on net,and it will give you some host information for example:domain name ,
Port scan,which may be used to search the port opened on curtain host.sometimes it can used to scan the backdoor controlled by hacker on your computer.
