My Yahoo! News Ticker displays the latest headline news, stock quotes, sports scores and weather reports.
It sits directly in your Windows 95 or NT task bar. It works with your browser to display full-text stories and detailed stock information. It also works with your 'My Yahoo!' account (at http://my.yahoo.com) to deliver the news, stocks, sports, and weather information you have selected . The service is free of advertisements and it uses a binary network feed to minimize network traffic.

This version works on Windows XP and is much better than their current version, which seems to have been deliberately crippled so that it doesn't compete with Yahoo's other paid services.

This is one of the best stock,news, etc that I have seen for the desktop. SMALL and NO ADS and it's FREE. I don't know why Yahoo no longer supports it. THANKS

The ticker displays a category that no longer exists on my Yahoo homepage, but does NOT display the weather, which does - and which I wanted the most.
