Virtual Painter lets you easily convert photos to excellent paintings. I am sure that result will impress you.

In the last few years the process of making photos has eased drastically with the support of high resolution digital image cameras and photo printers. Therefore good photos now can not surprise anyone, and paintings made only with paint and brush is what again much in demand. The installation process is very easy and understandable. One does not need to read any manuals, because all the explanations are given along the process. Well, I can say that it is very easy to use the program. First you load a photo to the program. There are various ways to do this: loading from graphical file on hard disk or clipboard, or with importing image from a TWAIN-compatible device, such as a scanner or digital camera.

Let's test the program with the photo of world known view of Coliseum:

The painter function is initiated with Paint button. A window with some parameters of conversion appears. Here one can set type of filter (one of 16 drawing technique), material of the surface on which painting will be done, and parameters to adjust the conversion:

First let's choose a filter. One can read description and recommendation on application of each filter by placing the mouse cursor on it:

For the loaded photo I have chosen the technique Gouache. Next let's choose the material:

Application of some materials (e.g. Rough Canvas) gives strongly marked structure, and the resulting image looks too rough. Therefore I preferred Lightly applied stucco.

Finally by clicking Adjust technique button one can amplify or reduce the influence of some parameters of conversion (like Material, Rendering, Coloration and some others) to the resulting image:

It is very convenient that this adjustment can be done in one of two modes: Easy mode or Expert mode. Moreover, in the same window one can save all the settings of conversion to a file, and later use them again.

When all the parameters have been set, we can get the final result by simply clicking Start painting button:

All left to do now is to save the painting to a file or directly print it from the program.

As you see, the program is so convenient that it has taken more time to tell about all its benefits than to convert the photo to some nice picture.
