LSX-MPEG Encoder is a software-based MPEG encoder.
It converts AVI files into MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 format. The encoder has a motion estimation algorithm that optimizes file sizes and it supports Intel's MMX technology. There are 18 modes of program operation and 4 modes of frame skipping, which is especially useful in creating low bitrate files. It produces high-quality files by using a variable bitrate with three modes of control. The video compression technology allows real-time, cost-effective implementation of video online or for CD ROM applications.
