The software package includes:

an anti-virus scanner - on-demand checking for viruses on all data storage drive.
an anti-virus daemon - anti-virus scanner with optimized process of loading into the system memory. Filters data from viruses in real-time.
anti-virus monitor - a client program for the anti-virus daemon. It intercepts file operations (start, opening and initialization of modules) and checks for viruses in real-time.
The integrity checker - Kaspersky® Inspector traces content changes on your computer by comparing CRC-sums modifications against their database and thus provides reliable control over data integrity.



The combined use of these modules provides the most effective anti-virus protection.


The program allows for the detection and deletion of a virus code from compressed files, and also the detection of viruses in archived files. The built-in heuristic detecting tool enables you to pinpoint even unknown virus programs.


Daily updates for the Kaspersky® Anti-Virus Business Optimal for Linux /UNIX anti-virus databases are retrieved via the Internet and installed using the built-in Updater utility.
