MagicISO is a powerful CD/DVD image edit tool that can create and edit ISO files, copy images of CDs and DVDs, and much more. It also includes means to convert images of BIN and other image file formats to standard ISO format.

To begin with, I would like to tell about the features of the MagicISO. For me, the program can perform virtually all the functions required to handle images.

First, the program supports almost all CD/DVD image file formats, including ISO and BIN. You can create or open for editing any image and add to it or delete from it any files. The program saves CD/DVD images to standard ISO image file format, and you can specify properties of your images, such as Publisher, Data Preparer, CD File System, File/Directory names length, Volume Serial Number, and the like.

Also MagicISO can copy images of CDs/DVDs to hard disk and burn CDs/DVDs with images from hard disk.

The program provides powerful means to convert files of various image formats, such as bin, img, nrg, cif, ccd, cue, flp, etc., to standard ISO images, that is very convenient because some burning software, like Nero Burning ROM, uses only its own image file format to store images. In this case MagicISO allows to turn your work with image files into more well-ordered.

Additionally, the program can create images of bootable floppy/CD/DVD disks. This feature may be very helpful when you want to create your own system recovery disk. Like for CDs and DVDs, you can also create non-bootable floppy disk images.

Now I would like to describe the program's interface. It is a bit not consistent because it contains some elements of standard (and even sometimes old) MS Windows design and some custom elements. This inconsistency makes understanding of the program's interface more difficult.

The main program window is divided into two parts (upper and lower). The upper part is dedicated to edit images. Buttons of tools to create images, files added to an opened image and Total/Maximum size for the chosen image type are displayed here.

The lower part of the window is similar to Windows Explorer with its tools and design; therefore it is quite easy to use. This part is aimed for browsing your computer for files. Selected files can be easily placed to the upper part (to an opened image project) by clicking Add files to the current image file button or by simple drag-and-drop action using mouse.

One more advantage of the program is that you may select one of 16 languages of the program interface. Beside English it includes French, German, Russian, Italian, Korean, Chinese and some other languages.

Summing up, I have never seen a more complete set of tools for work with images than in MagicISO, so, I think, it deserves to be called magic. If you need from time to time to work with disk images, then probably you will find all the necessary tools in this single program. To see the potential of MagicISO for yourself, download a shareware version of the program. Although it has a significant limitation (it can not save or burn an image greater than 300MB), it copies full images of CDs/DVDs to hard disk. And the price for the registration is quite low for such a powerful program – only $29.95.

Rich in features and user friendly interface. Ability to directly edit files within the image files. Context menu takes the user to the main application window to create image files which is ok. It would be nice to Lacks ability to be able to create image files from the context menu in windows explorer directly. Ability to convert between ISO, BIN and Nero image file formats. I could not verify other file formats perhaps because I was using trial version. Ability to create bootable cd's. Overall I like this software as it helped me archive a lot of my old files in a compressed image file which would have otherwise taken up a lot of space by themselves. I know there are some freeware softwares but I did not like them because they have very limited features which dont compare to MagicISO features.
