XYZ Import for AutoCAD is a plug-in for AutoCAD 2000/2000i/2002. This plug-in gives AutoCAD the ability to import graphical data from XYZ files.

XYZ files contain a matrix of points from a digitizer or from another software program. XYZ Import for AutoCAD gives AutoCAD the ability to import a point matrix from XYZ files. You can import the point data as points, lines, polylines, splines, faces, polyface mesh or polygon mesh. XYZ Files can also take the form of Comma Separated Value files (*.csv), Tab Delimited Value files (*.txt), Space Delimited Value files (*.prn) or Digitizer Files (*.asc) or any other ASCII text files.


This plug-in is very easy to use as it adds a new command to AutoCAD called "XYZIN". The user has to simply type "XYZIN" at the AutoCAD command prompt and select a XYZ file to import.
