The second method is a "Bruteforce" method. Here users define a charset and Rar Password Cracker tries as passwords all possible combinations of its characters. It's a more encouraging, but time consuming process. The maximal time to crack a 3-character password, with the charset of 5 digits and all lowercase Latin letters is 27m: 33s. Be careful when going to forget something really complicated. It might take you "too long" (reading people don't live as long) to recover such a password. While combining a charset, it's possible to add letter of users' national alphabets.

This is all about Rar Password Cracker. An evaluation version doesn't have any time limits, but allows to crack up to 3-character passwords only. The interface is rather artless, but it's the matter of taste. But for the absence of dictionaries, I would say it is excellent.
