ANSD offers remote access to serial ports through TCP/IP.
The developers of these facilities often face such a problem, particularly during debugging on a remote machine or when different people maintain the same facilities with the help of different machines, all of which are connected to one machine. ANSD is built to solve these problems with ease.
The product comprises three parts, including the AVSD program emulator of serial ports for operating systems W2K/XP, which can emulate up to 255 ports. The ANSD client is the service that facilitates the exchange between AVSD and TCP/IP, while the ANSD server is the service that enables the exchange between a real driver of the serial port and TCP/IP.
ANSD client and server handle two flows: outcoming and incoming. The client takes the bytes transferred to all the virtual ports earlier and transfers them to the server that is started on the other computer. The client also receives flows from the server and provides the bytes to AVSD, as if they came from the outside.
The client specifies the IP address of the receiving server, port number, and the number of the real serial port on the receiver for each port. The server receives information from clients and transfers it to the ports specified by them. Additionally, the server transfers the flows that came from these ports to the client. TCP/IP transfers the overhead information about the condition of different signals on serial port physical contacts aside from the data flow.
In conclusion, ANSD is an all-in-one software that facilitates the exchange of information between different facilities, and the use of this product guarantees remote access to serial port via TCP/IP, making it incredibly convenient for developers.
