v 3.2 updated on Mar 24, 2006

* A new "MSI Installer" tab was added to Registry Cleanup Mode. Applications that were installed with the Windows Installer (from MSI packages) are listed here. * The command "Show the Uninstall Registry Keys of ..." in the context menu of Registry Cleanup Mode was improved so it performs a more effective search of the Registry. In a number of cases this lets you find more Uninstall Registry keys that are relevant to the selected application. * The Uninstall Software mode was improved: 1) The analyzing of changes during a compare of system snapshots was sped up. Formerly, this procedure could take a lot of time. This sometimes happened while installing large applications, or during a comparison of system snapshots, when too many changes had been made to the system. 2) The algorithm of opening log files was modified. Now it is possible to work with very large logs. In previous versions, opening a large log could take time. 3) The procedure of working with a selection (in the "Objects to Trace" tab) in Uninstall Mode was rewritten. In the previous versions loading or saving a selection would work incorrectly in some cases. 4) Some buttons in Uninstall Software Mode were reordered to increase useability. * In Registry Cleanup Mode, at the "Software" tab, there is now the capability to view only the registered programs of a specific author. On the Tab Selection bar, near the "Software" item, there are now subitems, which correspond with different authors. In addition, there is "All Authors", to display every program registered in the system. * The "Full Expand" button was added in the window for viewing the contents of registry files (.reg). It fully expands the registry key tree, in order to view all the keys. * Bugs fixed: 1) Sometimes the status of entries in the "Application Paths" tab in Registry Cleanup Mode were displayed incorrectly. 2) Some applications in the "Open With... Menu" tab in Registry Cleanup Mode were not displayed on the list, yet were present in the "Open With" menu of Windows Explorer. 3) When choosing the "View Changes" command in the context menu of Registry Cleanup Mode (Uninstall Menu tab) the program switched to the Uninstall Mode and could show the wrong name of the displaying log file in the "Logged Application" tab. 4) Some applications in the "Uninstall Mode" tab of the Registry Cleanup Mode were not displayed occasionally. 5) Previously while working in Registry Cleanup Mode, when switching from one tab to another, the active tab was sometimes displayed incorrectly. 6) The program might display the error message "Invalid argument to date encode" when opening the "ARP Cache" tab in Registry Cleanup Mode. * The "Hide Button Images" context menu was removed from Registry Cleanup Mode as it was generally unused. * The list of Automatic Registry Cleanup Mode exclusions (the ignore list) was updated.

v 3.1 updated on Nov 20, 2005

* Improvements of the System Tweak Mode (the new name of the Shell Options Mode): 1) 23 new tweaks added. 2) Optimized memory allocation when loading Tweak plug-ins. 3) The tweak.dll plug-in was rewritten and now uses less memory. * Changes in the "ARP Cache" tab in Registry Cleanup Mode: 1) The "ARP Cache" tab of Registry Cleanup Mode now supports Unicode characters in its file names. 2) Some additional information about each application is displayed, such as application installation size and date last used. * Bug fixed: very rarely, some installed applications might not be displayed in the Uninstall Menu tab of Registry Cleanup Mode.

v 3.0 updated on Oct 17, 2005

* The Automatic Registry Cleanup mode now lets you find incorrect references to help files in the Help section of the Registry. The corresponding item named "Invalid help file items" was added to the "Check the System Registry for..." list. * The Disk Cleanup mode was improved significantly. Now it is possible to search and delete many more file types. The performance of this mode was improved and bugs were fixed. * Changes to the Registry Cleanup mode: 1) A new tab was added to the Registry Cleanup mode - "MUI Cache". Information about applications long ago deleted is often stored in this branch of the Registry. Now these records can be identified and deleted. 2) The ability to view separate categories of startup applications. For example, now you can see what programs start automatically from the win.ini file. 3) All tabs in the Registry Cleanup mode can now display records of a certain age (old, new or all). 4) It is possible now to edit the file paths of the start-up applications. * Improvements to the function of correcting invalid links to files and folders in the Registry: 1) You can now specify disks for a search. Reg Organizer will search only those specified disks for files and folders to which invalid links are pointing. In previous versions all hard drives were searched, which was not always convenient. You can now select the necessary disks on the new tab of the invalid links window. 2) It is possible now to correct not only records that contain an invalid link in a parameter value, but also records that contain an invalid link in a parameter name. As a result, more links can be corrected with the help of Reg Organizer. 3) Invalid links to dynamic libraries (DLL) can now also be corrected. * The ability to edit log files was added to the Software Uninstall mode. You can delete Registry keys from log files or save them from log files to reg files. * A new "Remove the selected value" command was added to the context menu in Registry Editing Mode. * The speed of creating a list of programs in the "Uninstall Menu" of Registry Editing Mode was vastly improved. In previous versions it could have taken a lot of time if a large number of log files were created by Reg Organizer. * Age System change: now Reg Organizer stores information about new registry entries in a file instead of the system Registry. This reduces the size of the Registry. After executing this newest version of Reg Organizer all previous Age System data is automatically removed from the Registry. * A new "Size" column was added to the results list of Disk Cleanup. In this column is the size of each of the files. * Ability to rename log files. A new "Rename Log" button was added to the Uninstall Mode. * Fixed bugs: 1) Reg Organizer would sometimes keep some of the removed entries on the list when using the "Remove Selected" button in the Automatic Registry Cleanup. 2) The option, "Switch to the Results tab on completion" in the Advanced tab of Automatic Registry Cleanup did not save its state. 3) Reg Organizer would ignore a pressing of the "Mark All" and "Unmark All" keys located in the Automatic Registry Cleanup window. 4) The "Previous" button on the toolbar in Registry Cleanup Mode would sometimes cause an error when pressed. 5) Couldn't rename binary registry values in Registry Editing Mode. 6) The context menu sometimes did not work properly for the new "MUI Cache" tab in Registry Cleanup Mode. 7) The error message "Cannot focus a disabled window" occurred when switching to the Ignore List in Disk Cleanup Mode if the option "Ignore file if its name or path contains any of these words" was turned off. 8) The Registry repair feature would scan the Recycle Bin when searching for the correct location of non-existent files on the disk. * Some changes to the interface: 1) The icons size in the program's main window was reduced. An option that allowed icon pictures to be hidden was removed from the "View" submenu. 2) The ability to change the background image of the Reg Organizer bar was eliminated. 3) The "File Cleanup" and the "Shell Settings" buttons were moved to the mode panel (Reg Organizer bar) on the left side of the program's main window. * The "Start" command sometimes did not work on the automatic start-up applications tab and this was fixed. * The Check For Reg Organizer Update plug-in was updated to version 1.5. Fixed bug: the plug-in would display empty text strings when working under some systems. The latest version of this plug-in can be downloaded from:
