This is a software suite of training tools designed for chess players, aimed at enhancing their playing skills. The collection includes a variety of resources such as puzzles, training exercises, and analysis tools.
The program was initially designed by the author to improve their own ability to visualize chess scenarios. However, they have made the decision to share it with other players so that they may also benefit from using it. By providing users with numerous exercises that can be practiced daily, they can improve their ability to visualize positions without needing to rely on a physical chessboard.
When using Chess Training Tools, users can customize their training to suit their personal preferences. For example, they may choose to work their way through the various panels, completing 20 exercises for each category. The panels include Color, Same Color, Diagonal 2, Diagonal 3, Knight, Knight 2, and Mate. Alternatively, users may opt to develop their own method of training.
Once users have completed their practice exercises, they can further improve their chess visualization skills by playing a game against Vince. To start with, it is recommended that users begin by either lagging the display by one ply or by blanking out one quadrant. Over time, users can work their way up to playing at seven ply and with all four quadrants visible.
Overall, Chess Training Tools is a highly useful program that can benefit any chess player looking to improve their visualization skills. With its range of customizable exercises and visual aids, it is a highly effective tool that should be a part of every chess player's training regimen.
