ConsoleCandy is a terminal-based mp3 player software application that allows users to play their favorite music tracks on their console window.
To install this software, it is as simple as typing "make install." If you have libmpeg3 version 1.7, please note that you will need to uncomment a line in the Makefile.
To use this software, refer to 'consolecandy -h' for complete instructions. You can experiment with the '-i' parameter to adjust the frame rate of the software. In my experience, with a wifi connection of 54Mb, I was able to achieve 15 frames per second in 173x75, whereas with a 1Mb internet connection, I was only able to reach 5 frames per second.
This update of the software boasts fantastic graphical upgrades, and an effect selection feature has been added. Overall, this software is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a visually impressive console mp3 player.
