cuePics is a software that enables users to create a dynamic still-image movie with pictures, transitions, and synchronised sounds. It's an ideal tool for enhancing visual storytelling and creating engaging multimedia content.
With cuePics, you can record sounds and create graphics directly within the program, which adds to its convenience. It also supports multi-track sound, allowing you to synchronise simultaneous music, sound effects, and voice-overs with volume and fade control. Additionally, you can import pictures and sounds in most standard file formats, record sound directly within the program, and use simple pop-up menus to set picture and transition duration.
This software offers an intuitive, drag-and-drop, non-linear editor with two user levels: Basic and Advanced. You can easily transform pictures by rotating or flipping them, crop pictures in a sequence to isolate and magnify areas of the imported original, create new pictures by painting/drawing afresh or paint/draw over existing pictures, and add speech bubbles, text, and simple shapes to your picture.
Moreover, cuePics allows simultaneous combination of any of drawing, cropping, and transforming operations. You can edit sounds by setting in and out points and add fades in or out, and alternatively view the picture sequence as a 2-dimensional grid or a storyboard. You can also add annotations to pictures and view and print annotations as part of a storyboard.
Once you're done creating your slideshow, you can export it as a QuickTime or AVI movie, with automatic or user-defined compression. It offers customisable preferences and automatically switches monitor resolution to full screen from within the program. Another advantage of cuePics is that it can run on both Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X, and projects and files are 100% cross-platform compatible.
There is a free downloadable demo that has a 10-picture import restriction and exports rendered with a red cross but with no time-delimitation. However, if you want the full version, you can purchase it directly from within the program with no serial numbers to enter.
To run cuePics, you need G3 (G4 500MHz recommended), 128MB RAM (256MB recommended), 27MB disk space, monitor resolution of at least 800 x 600, and QuickTime 6. Please note that the free demo is limited to importing a maximum of 10 pictures and includes an overlayed red-cross on the output.
