DynaStop is a LINUX tool that checks for Exim mail server activity by analyzing IP4 addresses. It is a GPL licensed utility.
DynaStop can be a game-changer for email filtering and server load management. Dynamic IP addresses are frequently used for dial-up, DHCP, and DSL accounts, all of which have designated mail exchange servers for outbound traffic as defined by most large Internet Service Providers (ISPs). With DynaStop, an Exim administrator can filter incoming mail based on whether it comes from a dynamic IP address, reducing system load and resources. Legitimate mail from any given ISP will be sent from a proper mail exchange server, preventing unwanted mail from entering the system.
It's important to note that DynaStop is now a server/client combination to avoid large configuration files consuming memory. This also enables a large mail cluster to share one active DynaWall server. With the updated version, the server must connect to on the command line, and your Exim configuration must be modified. Configuration examples are provided below.
