Khdapsmon is monitoring software specifically designed for IBM ThinkPad's Hard Drive Active Protection System (HDAPS).
The status dialog of khdapsmon also prints out useful information like accelerometer status and keyboard/mouse activity status. It also lets users select the monitored device, which is beneficial if you have more than one hard disk that supports queue freezing. However, users must note that this program does not park disk heads based on accelerometer data, and that is the job of the hdapsd daemon. The author is not responsible for lost data or other damage resulting from a misconfigured HDAPS setup.
Therefore, it is crucial to read the documentation for this and more information, including system requirements. It requires Linux 2.6.14 or later, with patches and hdapsd daemon, and a recent version of KDE 3.
Please do not leave support queries in the comments section of KDE-APPS.ORG as the author is not running a consulting business. Feedback or suggestions for the program are most welcome and can be directed towards the kde-apps.org and the author's inbox.
Lastly, the GUI is changed, but the screenshot upload appears to be broken. In this release, the GUI has been refactored to better handle larger fonts, and the source distribution has been cleaned up from any cruft.
