Kicker Pager offers a concise display of your KDE virtual desktops on your desktop.
Installation is made easy with a `configure' shell script that attempts to guess the correct values for your system-dependent variables used during compilation. It creates a `Makefile' in every package directory and one or more `.h' files containing system-dependent definitions. Moreover, it produces a shell script `config.status' that can be run later to recreate the current configuration, a `config.cache' that speeds up reconfiguration and `config.log' outlining compiler output useful in debugging `configure.'
If you encounter difficulties installing the package or require specialized configurations, `configure' can be modified to verify any necessary upgraded versions. You can mail diffs or instructions to the address given in the `README' for consideration in future releases.
Compiling the package is straightforward. Start by `cd' to the directory with the package's source code and type `./configure' to configure the package for your system. If you're using `csh' on an old version of System V, you might need to type `sh ./configure' instead to prevent `csh' from trying to execute `configure' itself. As it runs through the system, `configure' prints messages detailing the features being checked.
Next, type `make' to compile the package and `make install' to install any programs, data files, or documentation. Finally, to remove program binaries and object files from the source code directory, enter 'make clean.'
