KSlovar is a versatile dictionary software for KDE, enabling users to explore, edit, and acquire a range of dictionaries.
When it comes to installation, the process is relatively simple. Users need to `cd' to the directory containing the package's source code and type `./configure,' which configures the package to the system. However, in case an old version of System V is running `csh', users may need to type `sh ./configure' instead to prevent `csh' from attempting to execute `configure' itself. The running of `configure' takes a while, and while running, it prints messages telling which features it is checking for. After configuring, type `make' to compile the package, then `make install' to install programs and any data files and documentation. If you want to remove the program binaries and object files from the source code directory, type `make clean'.
The software requires libxml2 and libxslt to run suitably. There aren't many features in the software, but it is always seeing improvements. For example, in the recent update, a French translation has been added. Overall, KSlovar is a useful software choice for those who need quick access to word definitions in various languages.
