MOCKS is a SOCKS 5 server that is easy to configure and compliant with RFC1928. It is small in size and provides a seamless experience for the users.
MOCKS is quite simple, and there's no need for a make file. You can compile it utilizing the build script available in the package or with a simple command. In case you come across any complications during compilation, you can always contact the developer for support.
Starting and shutting down the MOCKS server is convenient, and one can control it using straightforward commands. Additionally, accessing the help section is also accessible.
The latest release brings some new features that make it even more appealing. The support for upstream proxy connectivity allows MOCKS to act like a client for another proxy server, and all traffic can be relayed. However, BIND commands are not yet fully implemented. Also, MOCKS can now reject client connections based on filtering rules.
Another noteworthy addition is the IP-based client filter. It accepts and responds to requests coming from an IP address that complies with filtering rules. Lastly, MOCKS also added the option for you to tell it the IP address where it must listen and accept client connections.
The update also fixes some include problems that were causing warnings from GCC.
