This Amarok script organizes MP3s from .rar and .zip archive files.
Often, users have backup copies of their favorite CDs that have been converted into MP3 format and archived into rar or zip files. Due to space constraints, these files are often not uncompressed and unavailable in their preferred media player collection that searches only for .mp3 files. Rumine allows users to easily retrieve these MP3 files that are still archived in rar files.
The name Rumine is derived from the Italian word for "rumen," which is the larger of the three prestomachs of ruminants. It is the first place where chewed food is stored before returning to the mouth. Rumine has a similar goal of storing MP3 media files before sending them to the local playlist. The media player can be compared to the "omasum," through which the digesta from the "rumine" passes, to begin the last part of the digestive process. Similarly, the file to play is sent to the media player. Interestingly, the Perl's dromedary is a ruminant as well.
Overall, Rumine is a useful tool for managing MP3 files that are still archived in rar files, providing an easy and efficient way of retrieving and adding them to your preferred media player's playlist.
