Kava Telnet is a full-featured telnet and SSH software application.
To get started with KTA, one must have Java 1.4.2 or later installed. The configuration file manages the plugins that the KTA loads and sets the relevant properties. It uses the Java Properties file format, where a hash (#) begins a comment, and each line features a key/value pair assigned by an equality sign (=).
A basic telnet connection configuration file that will create a terminal window will resemble this:
# General settings
plugins = Socket,Telnet,Terminal
pluginPath = de.mud.jta.plugin
layout.Terminal = Center
Help.url =
Socket.host = telnet.example.com
Socket.port = 23
The KTA's configuration file must be specified by the -config parameter when starting KTA. As an application, the command is:
java -jar jta.jar -config myconfig.cfg
In an applet:
< param name="config" value="myconfig.cfg" / >
As a developer, you can read the properties from the configuration file by registering as a ConfigurationListener and parsing the PluginConfig object that is passed into the listener function from the bus.
This release of KTA is based on JTA 2.6. With its features and flexibility, KTA is undoubtedly one of the best telnet and SSH software available.
