This Trac plugin integrates Piwik logging into your Trac environment for improved analytics tracking.
The TracPiwik plugin requires you to complete some mandatory configuration steps. The first step is to provide your Piwik's Site ID. This information can be found on the Site tab in Piwik's settings module or in the JavaScript code. For instance, in this example, the Site ID is 1. The second mandatory configuration requirement is the Base URL of your Piwik installation. If the URL of your Piwik installation is "www.example.com/piwik" (without http:// and the trailing slash), you would include this URL.
In addition to the mandatory configuration, there are advanced configuration options available to you. Firstly, you can disable the admin_logging option to prevent all logged in TRAC_ADMIN's from showing up on your Piwik's reports. Similarly, the authenticated_logging option allows you to prevent all authenticated users from showing up on your Piwik's reports. Lastly, you can specify which file extensions you would like to track as a download. For instance, you can enter mp3|pdf to track all MP3s and PDFs. Please note that outbound link tracking must be enabled for downloads to be tracked.
With its ease of installation and user-friendly interface, TracPiwik is a valuable plugin addition to your Trac environment. Its reporting capabilities through Piwik make it easy to track vital user data on your website.
