ZD1211 software offers high performance, low power, and reliable security for WLAN applications. Ideal for a variety of settings, it is a compact and versatile solution.
The integrated USB 2.0 controller means that no extra memory device is needed, and the software's flexibility can adapt the operation scenario to comply with USB or WLAN compatibility issues. The hardware security engine is integrated into the ZD1211, which meets Wi-Fi and IEEE 802.11-defined standards, including WEP64, WEP128, WEP256, AES-CCM, and TKIP protocols.
The power consumption management issues in WLAN applications and USB certification are also considered, which provides lower power consumption for WLAN in power-saving mode and USB suspend mode. ZD1211 can operate in both the station and access point mode, allowing it to fit the feature demand in different WLAN applications.
Optional 16-bit host interface is provided, which is useful in embedded applications, and a high level of security, including WPA (HW TKIP support) and AES128-CCMP, is provided. The ZD1211 Driver also supports auto-installation, providing an easy-to-install driver without the need for a CD.
The system's electrical characteristics include dual power, 3.3V for I/O pad and 1.8V for the core, 40Mhz external clock input, and a single chip solution for MAC and Baseband. Applications for the ZD1211 include IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN USB dongle, IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN CF card, and IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN Embedded System.
In this release, ZD1211 Driver syncs to vendor driver v2.21.0.0, fixing a USB disconnect issue that most commonly appeared when running "lsusb" or "cat /proc/usb/devices" while using the device. Overall, the ZD1211 is a highly versatile and high-performance solution for WLAN applications, offering cost savings and design simplification.
