3D-Brush software specializes in detailing and texturing 3D objects created by other programs, with options to paint using bump, color, transparency, and specular effects. The software also has robust sculpting and posing tools available.

Firstly, at the input, you provide an OBJ file of 1-100 thousand polygons that has UV-mapping in place. At the output, you get either an object of 1-10 million polygons or textures of normals, displacement, color, transparency, and specular. The maximal texture size is 4096 per 4096. Fully seamless texturing is provided!
Secondly, you can draw relief detailing, color, specular, and transparency on a model's surface. 3D-Brush allows you to do everything you previously did in 2D now in 3D. You can work with layers, clone surface areas, transform images on the surface, and fill areas with gradients. You can also darken, lighten, smoothen, sharpen, and more.
Thirdly, small geometry details get automatically added onto normal maps while large ones modify the geometry. As a result, an object of 40 to 80 thousand polygons displayed on the screen looks like 5 to 10 million polygons owing to a detailed normal map.
Fourthly, normal maps get instantly formed, so you can quickly see how the object will look in your game or scene. This feature is particularly important for game developers.
Fifthly, you can easily add details, applied along a spline, such as chains, bandages, and zippers. These details can be imported from 3D objects and images.
Sixthly, pens used for drawing contain plenty of channels - depth, color, specular, eraser mask. This allows you to considerably speed up the object detailing process. You can apply relief detailing and draw with color at the same time.
Seventhly, although 3D-Brush is more oriented for small detailing, it allows for global object modification and sculpting. You can easily bend a hand or a finger, enlarge the head, change object proportions, and posture.
Lastly, you can fix several points on the object's surface and pull one of them to see the object smoothly deforming. In summary, 3D-Brush is an excellent tool for detailed texturing and modeling that is useful for game developers and other artists.
Version 2.04:
1) Texture baking tool - possibility to project current mesh on another and get textures of normals, color and specular.
2) Importing normalmap. It does not displace geometry, but creates a new layer with corresponding blending.
3) Smooth stroke - allows you to make smooth and accurate strokes.
Version 2.03:
1) 3D-Brush now supports 3D-Mouse!
2) FBX import was done.
3) Draw with multiple random pens.
4) Presets window. You can store there full state of pen shape/ radius/ depth/ strip shape/ material/ filler/ color/ smooth and restore that settings any time by one click.
