This software offers a comprehensive security and encoding solution with several helpful modules for encryption and signing of files, folders, emails (including attachments) and passwords based on X.509 certificates. With the MS File Explorer PlugIn, users can quickly sign or encrypt files and folders according to the PKCS standard of RSA, or send secure message envelopes (SME) via email that are signed and encrypted in one step. The program also allows users to compress (in ZIP format) or securely destroy (by wiping after DOD-II method) selected files.
Administrating all X.509 certificates is easy with the integrated certificate manager that binds the certificates to the Windows certificate database. This feature does not pose a problem when using external tokens like smartcards and USB tokens. During verification (to check signatures), the public keys are stored automatically by the software. The program supports selecting the encoding and signing algorithm and generating self-signed certificates.
The data drive is fully integrated into the MS File Explorer and shown as an independent drive. Each stored file is encrypted on the hard disc, without any additional operation required from the user. The file-based structure allows simultaneous access by several users, with authorizations set by the assignment of X.509 certificates. The file names and folders are masked by random numbers, and only authorized persons can see the original file name in their File Explorer.
The easy-to-use password manager is created for storing secret data and helping users to manage their passwords. With this tool, users need only one password for all their secret data, all of which are stored in an encrypted XML-File on their hard disk. The software also supports the creation of random passwords.
