Agave

Agave is a helpful GNOME application that enables users to create color schemes with ease. By simply selecting a starting color, Agave generates six distinct types of colorschemes, and the user has the ability to copy those colors to the clipboard for use in HTML and CSS. Although currently a basic tool, Agave promises to offer more functionalities in future updates.

Formerly known as GNOME Colorscheme, Agave boasts an impressive set of features. For instance, users can pick a color from anywhere on their screen using the dropper tool, they can modify the saturation or lightness of their chosen colorschemes, and they can save colors to their favorites list for quick reference. Additionally, the program allows users to navigate backward and forward through their history of selected colors, choose from pre-defined "web-safe" colors, and drag and drop colors schemes between Agave and other programs.

One exciting feature of Agave is its ability to generate random colorschemes when necessary. These generated colorschemes help users overcome color-related creative blocks or provide them with a starting point for design ideas.

The user interface of Agave is currently available in several languages, including English, Dutch, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Czech, and Bulgarian.

To run Agave, users will need several components, including GTK+ version 2.8.x, gtkmm, libboost, gconfmm (but optional),libgnomeui (also optional), and cppunit (optional).

The latest version of Agave offers bugfixes and additional translations. Overall, Agave provides a user-friendly experience for creating color schemes, and its potential to offer more features makes it a worthwhile investment for any creative software toolbox.
