Akita Kanto Festival

This software allows you to immerse yourself in the traditional Japanese festival of Akita Kanto and perform the ritual to cast away evil spirits! The aim of the game is to balance a large array of lanterns (kanto) for a minimum of 10 seconds.

To play, you will be provided with a kanto that you need to balance on your shoulders. You can maintain the balance by moving your mouse around. The length of time that you manage to balance the kanto on your shoulders is displayed at the top right corner of the screen. For each second that you maintain the balance, you earn 100 points. However, if you fail to balance the kanto and it falls, you lose the game.
