Altivec Fractal Carbon

AltiVec Fractal Carbon is a highly efficient parallel graphics application with a special emphasis on numerical calculations. The app utilizes the Velocity Engine, popularly known as AltiVec, along with multiple processors (MP), and cluster computing (via MPI) for its computations. As a result, the AltiVec Fractal Carbon is proficient in processing numerically-intensive algorithms.

Thanks to the ingenious use of AltiVec, the app is capable of performing computationally demanding graphics operations, even on non-G4/G5 machines. However, users should rest assured that the AltiVec Fractal Carbon is designed to compute correctly on single processor machines as well.

AltiVec Fractal Carbon's communication library is based on MacMPI_X.c. Moreover, the application demands Mac OS 10.2, or any later version of the operating system, to be installed on the host computer.
