Aquatint

Aquatint is a software designed to simplify the creation of images that perfectly match the appearance of Apple's Aqua user interface. The glossy and liquid appearance of Aqua is visually appealing, but it poses a challenge for people without an artistic background. Luckily, Aquatint offers an intuitive interface to easily produce customized Aqua icons and images.

The software offers a plethora of controls that enable users to tweak the details of their image precisely. The stencil creation process in this release has been vastly simplified for the convenience of users. Numeric fields have also been added to the sliders to allow input of exact values. Optional online version check code is a new feature to keep users up-to-date with the latest software updates.

Moreover, Aquatint features a Preferences panel, lots of configurable display parameters for an efficient workflow, and the ability to save the final image on either a black or white background. The UI has been streamlined in this release for smoother operation, addressing previous issues with high-DPI stencil images.

The only limitations come in the form of watermarked images and a trial mode only active for 15 launches, each with a maximum of 24 hours. Overall, Aquatint is an impressive application, perfect for those who want to create Aqua-like images with ease.
