Arpalert is an essential network monitoring software used globally. This software is designed to listen to the conversations that take place between MAC address to IP request, without using the promiscuous mode. Furthermore, Arpalert compares the MAC addresses that are detected with a list of authorized MAC address to ensure only the right conversations using it meet the requirements.

If an unauthorized MAC address is detected, Arpalert launches a pre-defined user script with the MAC address and IP address as parameters. It is capable of running in daemon mode and has very low CPU and memory consumption. Arpalert responds perfectly to signal SIGHUP, which prompts configuration reload, and other signals such as SIGTERM, SIGINT, SIGQUIT, and SIGABRT enable Arpalert to stop itself.

This release is a significant upgrade, and the new features include fixing a bug that was present in the lease file reading. Additionally, there is a new script in contribs, an Ubuntu-supported script that sends a Zenity alert.
