Arrayprobe is a command-line software that is designed to report the status of a HP (Compaq) array controller. However, this version of the software only supports the newer controllers that utilize the cciss driver. One of the most impressive features of the Arrayprobe project is that it runs in two modes.

The default mode allows you to receive the status of the controller in a single line, which can be used as a nagios check. On the other hand, the second mode is triggered by the -r option and prints a complete status report of the controller along with any events in the event queue. If you want to download the latest version, simply click on the link found on the left sidebar.

Installation of the software is relatively simple. To compile the package, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Change your directory to where the package's source code is located and type ./configure to configure it for your system. In case you are using csh on an older version of System V, you may need to type sh ./configure instead to prevent csh from executing configure itself.

2. Once you run configure, it may take a while to complete. However, it gives you an idea of the various features that it is checking for.

3. Use the make command to compile the package.

4. If you want to run any self-tests that come with the package, type make check.

5. When you are ready to install the software, type make install. Doing this allows you to install the programs, data files, and documentation.

If you want to remove any files, binaries, or object files from the source code directory, type make clean. If you would like to remove files created by configure, type make distclean. There is also a make maintainer-clean target, which is ideal for developers.

This release of Arrayprobe comes with a number of exciting new features. For instance, it also supports HP (Compaq) array controllers that use the ida driver. This means that nearly all available controllers are now supported. Additionally, a few fixes were made in the configure script and existing code cleanup was also done. Overall, Arrayprobe is an excellent software to consider if you are looking for a command-line utility that reports the status of an array controller.
