AuctionGallery is a script that generates image galleries through a terminal.
AuctionGallery is a powerful terminal script that enables you to create amazing picture galleries for use in auctions on platforms such as eBay, Yahoo Auctions, and many more. One of the essential features of this software is that it automatically generates HTML templates for auction descriptions. The tool is primarily aimed at powersellers who have to list hundreds of products every day and need an effective way of generating galleries and organizing pictures in a logical directory structure.
During my search for straightforward software to swiftly create picture galleries for auctions, I created AuctionGallery. While there may be similar programs out there, they did not quite meet my needs. Here are some of the key features of AuctionGallery:

- Uploads pictures to an FTP site.
- Resizes images and creates thumbnails.
- Flexible templates for support.
Installation of the tool is simplified since you only have to extract the tar file into your home directory. You can then add the path to the gallery executable to PATH by typing "export PATH=foobar:$PATH." After that, edit gallery.conf and create templates - 3 sample templates are included.
AuctionGallery is user-friendly, and usage is straightforward. Once you navigate to the directory containing the images, type "gallery" in terminal. You can also specify a template to speed things up, like so: "gallery foobar." The executable will list available templates and their descriptions, allowing you to choose the most suitable one. Type the folder's name that will contain the pictures, and they will be uploaded, renamed, resized, thumbnailed, and a gallery.html file will be created in the current directory. All pictures in the current directory will be moved to "backup," making finding files easier.
It is worth noting that this program is written in Bash script, making it error-prone. Extensive error-checking has been done, but it is impossible to check everything. Sometimes the program may spit out something bogus if something goes wrong. However, the new feature of rsync/ssh support has been added in this release. This is a crucial upgrade, and it's worth checking out.
