Babaliba is a classic video game that was originally programmed for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum computer by Víctor Ruiz, founder of Dinamic - considered one of the greatest software companies of the Spanish software "golden age" in 1985. The Babaliba project was the second part of a trilogy that began with Saimazoom and ended with Abu Simbel Profanation, featuring Johnnie Jones as the main protagonist.
This video-adventure game boasts fast and frenetic action with colourful and larger graphics, given that it was released in 1985 for the Spectrum. The storyline of Babaliba is reminiscent of a 1950's adventure movie, starring Clark Gable or - more recently - Indiana Jones (a character that served as inspiration for Johnnie). The primary objective of the game is to rescue a friend who has been kidnapped by the bad guy while collecting treasure hidden in a palace and kidnapping his beautiful daughter in the process. Simple, right? Let's give it a try.
The purpose of this remake is to pay homage to Dinamic, who celebrated their 20th anniversary last year in 2004, and the game itself since it is also turning 20 years old in 2005. The remake was in the works for a couple of years but was eventually halted until we decided to resume it to coincide with the REDO project at Remakes Zone. We sincerely hope you'll enjoy playing this game as much as we've enjoyed creating it.
