bchunk converts CD image formats from BIN/CUE to ISO/CDR tracks, making it easy to use and transfer between devices.
BinChunker is a software that converts CD images in the ".bin / .cue" format, sometimes known as ".raw / .cue", into a set of .iso and .cdr tracks. This particular format is utilized by several popular non-Unix CD writing software but it is not widely supported by most other CD burning programs. Many CD/VCD images shared on the internet are in BIN/CUE format, as it has been reported.
This Unix/C rewrite of the BinChunker software was developed because the non-Unix version of BinChunker has been rendered obsolete by the CD-R/W burning software called FireBurner, which can be found at www.fireburner.com. FireBurner performs much more than what BinChunker is capable of, but even without a burner device installed, FireBurner can perform exactly what BinChunker does.
The .iso track within BinChunker contains an ISO file system that can be mounted on Linux systems through a loop device or written on a CD-R using cdrecord. The .cdr tracks are in the native CD audio format and can likewise be written on a CD-R using cdrecord -audio. Furthermore, they can be converted to WAV (or any other sound format) using sox. With the latest bchunk 1.1.0, audio tracks can now be outputted in WAV format.

It has been tested on various platforms such as Linux 2.0, 2.2, 2.4, and 2.6, Solaris 2.5.1 and 2.6, Digital Unix 4.0c, SGI IRIX 6.5.7m, and Mac OS X 10.1.4. Additionally, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, and NetBSD all have a port of bchunk available in their respective archives for a wide range of hardware platforms.
