I recently had the pleasure of using the Bitter-Sweet software and I must say, it has proven to be quite useful in my audio production endeavors. One feature that stands out to me is the central button which, when turned to the sweet side, reduces the amplitude of transients. Conversely, when turned to the bitter side, the amplitude of transients is amplified.
Additionally, the software includes a control for signal processing. When in the main position, the stereo signal is affected. However, if Center is engaged, only the M signal of the internal MS matrix is processed. On the other hand, selecting stereo will limit processing to only the S signal from the MS matrix.
Bitter-Sweet also offers three transient detection modes, allowing for a varying period of integration for transients. The software also includes a useful Link function, which compensates the output gain according to the selected transient processing setting.
Like other Flux:: plug-ins, Bitter-Sweet is capable of processing up to 8 channels and up to 8 FS (384 KHz) with 64 bit floating point processing. However, it should be noted that Center and Stereo Modes are only available in stereo (2 channels) processing. Overall, I highly recommend giving Bitter-Sweet a try for anyone looking to streamline their audio production workflow.
