C - Type

C - Type is a shoot-em-up game with a unique twist that sets it apart from others in its genre. In this game, players must shoot enemies whose color matches their bullet's color. Along the way, players must avoid being hit by enemy bullets, making bullet dodging a core gameplay mechanic.

One exciting feature of this game is its customisation options. Players can easily create or customise enemy weapon patterns, giving them a personalised and unique gaming experience. Additionally, the game includes a two-player mode, making it a fun choice for groups of friends or family members.

In terms of hardware requirements, this game can run on almost any computer, including old Pentium 4 1.6Ghz systems with GeForce 2 and 384 RAM, as long as the necessary 3D drivers are installed.

As for software requirements, binaries are available for Windows (32-bit) and Linux (also 32-bit), but the source package is messy and not packaged in a nice source tarball. The Windows version includes all needed libraries, so it should run right away, while on Linux, players will need to install Ogre 3D (preferably > 1.6.5), CEGUI (pref. 0.6.2), OIS, SDL, SDL_mixer, OgreCEGUIRenderer, ogg, and vorbis. Note that Ubuntu 9.04 has a known issue with CEGUI, but a workaround is available via a PPA.

If necessary, the developer may build static Linux binaries or package the game with the necessary libraries to make it more accessible.
