I recently had the opportunity to review the cliMail software package, a comprehensive set of command line utilities designed to streamline email communication. This package includes two main features: cliSendMail and cliGetMail.
With cliSendMail, users are able to send emails from the command line using SMTP and SMTPS protocols. This feature offers a range of customizable options, including the ability to add CC and BCC recipients, send attachments, set delivery notifications, send messages through a firewall, and more. Additionally, this function supports HTML formatting, alternate ports, and priority levels, making it a versatile solution for a variety of email needs.
On the other side of the spectrum, cliGetMail allows users to receive email from POP3, POP3S, IMAP, and IMAPS mailboxes. Users can check their email right from the command line, and are able to reply to messages or delete them as needed. Like the cliSendMail feature, cliGetMail also supports a range of advanced options for custom email management.
Overall, I was impressed by the functionality offered by cliMail. While it's best suited for a scripting environment, these utilities offer a convenient and efficient way to manage email without having to navigate a cluttered inbox.
