CLPQ

If you're in need of a simple printer queue program that runs in a console, CLPQ software might just do the trick. It monitors your printer queue and lets you remove jobs by selecting them with your cursor keys. You can even set an alarm on a job if you want to be notified when it's finished.

Keep in mind that CLPQ is still in development and is currently in alpha stage. Even so, the program offers some useful features including being multiuser (although only root has root-rights), and an adjustable refresh-rate from 1 to 255.

This version of CLPQ is designed for a single printer, but multiple users can use the program at the same time (as long as they have the required permissions). The program can be run by typing './clpq' from the program directory or wherever you placed the program.

The program can be controlled with a few simple command keys. You can use the Up/Down arrows to navigate through the jobs, and:

- 'a' or 'A': To set an alarm on the highlighted job
- 'u' or 'U': To unset an alarm on the highlighted job
- 'r' or 'R': To remove the highlighted job
- 'q' or 'Q': To end CLPQ
- 'h' or 'H': To display the helpscreen

It's worth noting that the command keys don't require the single quotes. The program should be run in a window that's at least 12x60 in size.

To use CLPQ, you'll need a c++ compatible compiler like GNU's g++ and the ncurses libraries. Installation is as simple as editing the 'conf' file if necessary, then typing 'make'. The program will be created, the conf file will be copied to your Home directory, and CLPQ will be stripped. If you're a non-root user, be sure to copy the conf file to your Home directory as ".clpqconf" (without the quotes).
