Construo

Construo is a simple construction program that allows users to build objects using rods and springs, which react to physical forces. While not an actual game, users are able to construct buildings, bridges, towers, spaceships, and more, and then see them fall to the ground and smash apart. The program is similar to other construction-based games such as Bridge Builder, and was inspired by the Gamasutra article, "Collision Response: Bouncy, Trouncy, Fun".

Construo operates under the GNU General Public License, meaning that the source code is available and can be modified as desired. The program requires a GNU/Linux or other Unix-like operating system, and a fast CPU is recommended (though it has not been tested on anything slower than 1Ghz). Only plain Xlib libraries are required, which come pre-installed with most operating system distributions.

In the latest release of Construo, users now have access to an additional feature - scaling, which can be accessed by pressing 's' in select-mode. Additionally, problems with new particles disappearing in run-mode have been fixed, and the ground has been given a facelift, making it look a bit nicer. Finally, a previous speed problem in the X11 target has been resolved. Overall, Construo is a simple yet engaging program that offers hours of entertainment, without the need for any advanced knowledge of coding or programming.
