DBEdit

DBEdit is a versatile tool that allows for efficient exploring and editing of databases based on information in EOModel files. With its easy-to-use interface, users can fetch all or qualified rows for a particular entity, sort the results, export them to file, and even edit and save back to the database. Additionally, rows can be deleted or added, and relationships can be followed to display related rows.

For users who require more advanced functionality, the raw SQL window is provided to execute arbitrary SQL statements and monitor results. This feature provides an added level of flexibility to manipulate databases for specific purposes.

In this latest release, DBEdit has been upgraded to a universal binary for use on Intel Macs. Modified connection dictionaries are automatically saved when using DBEditGroup files, ensuring seamless operation every time. The JVM version has been specified as "1.3+" and should now use 1.4.2 if available, rather than 1.3.1 which caused some JDBC drivers to fail previously.

DBEdit's developer team has worked hard to address issues reported by users. For example, they have worked around problems with Boolean attributes and Number attributes with a valueType of "c" in the Java Bridge in MacOS X 10.4. Moreover, long-standing validation bugs have been resolved when using JDBC models, preventing potential problems when saving to the database. Lastly, a bug with prototypes and CLOB/BLOB attributes that could prevent fetching has also been addressed.
